Meet
a Director
Bud Morton
We'll be highlighting a different club member
bi-monthly with info about them and their cars so we can get to know each other a bit
better. This time let's meet Bud Morton member #0003, another one of the Founding Five
Directors. Bud's love for SVOs goes back to a well remembered day in the fall of 1985 when
he stepped on the lot of the local Ford dealership and saw a SVO for the very first time.
It would be five years before he would own his first SVO, a Medium Canyon Red 1986.
Bud's current Mustang stable includes
a 94 SVT
Cobra, a 1969 Sportsroof, and a pair of 1985 SVOs. The Oxford White car is great example
of an original car (with the exception of being repainted). Bud's other SVO is a rare find
- a Dark Sage (green) that paid it's dues as a Hertz Rent-a-car out of Houston, TX.
Bud bought the "Hertz" out of the Atlanta area and spent 15 months restoring it
to it's present condition. Including all necessary documentation to validate it's
heritage, including a copy of the original Texas title to the Hertz Corp.
Both of Bud's SVOs see (in Bud's words) "limited" driving
duties to shows and club events. Keep in mind, Bud attends an excess of 20+ shows a year.
Bud is the man in charge of the day-to-day operation of the SVOCA business. If you have
any comments or suggestions, you can email Bud at
bud@svoca.com
