  • I need axles

Can someone point me to a vendor and a part number? Moser, Strange or someone who sells their products and their part number would be great.

Do I just tell them I need SVO axles or do I need to provide the specs?

I dont know the part #, but last time I bought axles, Moser had a screamin deal +- $275 shipped? with new studs. They knew exactly what I was looking for when I told them SVO.

I'm waiting to see if anyone has a good used set they want to sell before I go with new. But I was hoping I just call someone and say "SVO" and they would get it. It's good to know that I can call Moser and get them complete.

        thanks.

Would a set of axles from an SN-95 work? The reason I ask is the axles in my car are trashed as well and I happen to have a set laying around...

Tateg give Moser a call at 260-726-6689 and tell them you need the part number for Ford Mustang SVO stock replacement C-clip axles.
Once you have the Moser part number call Tick Performance and they will take care of you.

SN-95 axles are the wrong length for use with the SVO rear brake set-up.

I sent Tick Performance an email last night asking their price. I'll call Moser tomorrow and get the part number in case Tick doesn't know what I'm talking about. Is Tick usually cheaper than Moser?

I also sent an email to 50resto asking if they carry them. They list the 31 spline (in the part description) axles for $234 but the part number on them is for the 28 spline part.

I just swapped in a new FRPP 8.8 (3.73) and the axles are totally gone. It even already had axle saver bearings in it. Really, really pitted and there were even little grooves worn where the seals have been riding.

Yep. I called to verify with 50resto that this part number, MOS-8486SVO-28, was 28 spline since the description said 31 spline. It is 28 and they have changed the description. Anyway they are $234.95 without studs. I haven't priced studs yet but last time I bought any was a number of years ago and they were a couple of bucks each.

It will be hard to beat moser's price, especially since it saves me the time of tracking down the studs and installing them. I will have to give Tick Performance a call on Monday but i'm not expecting a huge difference in price.

BTW the new rearend with 3.73s (instead of 3.45s) is great but those old axles are *still* noisy as hell. I was hoping for at least a little difference (the pinion bearing was bad and the gears were getting noisy) but it's are as bad as ever.

I ordered my Moser 7.5", 28 spline, 30.5" axles today. $273.54 with studs. I also picked up the seals & bearings from my Ford parts man $37.98 for both bearings, $6.44 for both seals. I get a discount on my Ford parts. Shane at Moser said it would be about 2 1/2 weeks before I get them. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to all, and to all Goodnight.
