New member here in Athens, AL. Will introduce properly ASAP. Have a problem (electrical??) with my recently-acquired1986. It runs fine after starting but won't start without the aid of starting fluid (I spray it in the brake booster vacuum hose). The injectors aren't seeing a signal to start when attempting a normal start; ignition switch maybe?? Also, this is a Canadian market car with a W code (a build code of some sort?) which another SVO club didn't recognize; it is apparently the only Canadian SVO built with this code. The VIN is 1FABP28T9GF241177. TIA for any advice.
Another mystery car: I purchased a new '85, the VIN was 1FABP28T7FF153128 and was purchased new as a demo with appx. 4k miles. It was bright red, had the recessed headlights, a 15psi boost gauge (did the '84s and early '85s normally have a 14psi gauge like I believe?), AND a 3.73 tagged rear end!??? Ran great and was very quick, just like my '86.
P.S. Forgot to mention that the '85 had the one-sided dual-tipped exhaust as one would expect on a non 85.5. ?????
Thanks,
Ron
